happy valentine's day

(or singles awareness day, as it's also known) in lieu of today's holiday i thought i'd share a few thoughts...
a few years back, two friends and i watched the longest movie in all of eternity, gone with the wind. after staring at a black and white screen for an entire evening, the only thing the three of us could remember from the movie was a line where scarlett o'hara says to some dude, "my hands are cold, may i put them in your pocket?". we decided that this was the greatest pick up line ever, and vowed that we'd use it over and over again. of course we never did, but even if we tried i'm sure we'd have been laughing too hard to even get the words out of our mouths, because for some reason we thought this was the funniest line we had ever heard.
i miss heart shaped pizzas at boston pizza. it was our valentine's tradition when everyone was still young and single.
and lastly, i have recently been educated on a few valentine's facts that got me wondering. apparently, in the states, for every 100 single women in their 20's there's 119 single men of the same age. interesting. if this is true, then why the heck am i'm still single. perhaps they forgot to mention that the other 19 guys were weird and nobody wanted to date them. i've also been informed that the average age for a women to get married is 25.3. this means that i've got .7 of a year to find a guy, get engaged, and plan a weeding. yikes, i better get on that.
